Ode to a Sour Mango
Conferences and graduate school won today. All I can muster is a haiku inspired by the mango I should have saved for tomorrow...
lips pucker, eyes squint
impatient hands pick green fruit
you can't rush sweetness
.
.
What a great haiku. I especially love that ending line!
ReplyDeleteYour title drew me to your slice, Alex. Few words (Haiku) making so much meaning. Your reader can truly visualize the look on a person's face when they taste that 'sour mango'. You use the senses perfectly.
ReplyDeleteOf course "you can't rush sweetness"! This line I selected could have many different meanings. Well done.
When you get lemons, make lemonade. When you get sour mangos, write a haiku to keep slicing!
ReplyDeletelol!
